  • Covering the bases

I've been fairly productive in the past week.

I have been going to Phillips Academy to practice my tennis serves. One of my mistakes when playing a game is not practicing my tennis swing. It takes me about 20-30 practice serves to get things going. It's easy to see when I'm warmed up when all of my serves go into the service box. I've also been able to improve my first serve power and accuracy. Once I'm warmed up, I've got much more than half of my serves in with decent speed. After each practice, I've felt a good tightness in my core since I'm now using my body to help produce some more speed.

This past weekend, I went to Mike's to practice the guitar. I can play each chord of Everlong by Foo Fighters but I still have trouble with timing, compacting my guitar strokes, and lobster clawing the strings. Once I improve on that, as well as memorizing the entire tablature, I'll be set to show it off by video. Don't laugh since I'm still mistake prone :)

I was considering buying clothes / furniture for myself but in the end I decided to take those off the list. My needs for it are very low. I'll still buy some clothes for the fall season but furniture I'll skip out on.

As for painting the room, I think I've finally chosen the color. I'm shooting for the finish during this next weekend.

At work, I was recognized for my labor. $100 dollar gift card to pick and choose. I was contemplating a new snowboard but REI doesn't offer any discounts on their good boards. Forget a snowboard then...

    Confessions of a former roommate:

My roommate and his chick were completely silent but i was on the top
bunk and the whole thing would rock back and forth. if it werent for
his horrible rhythm i probably would have been rocked to sleep like an
    infant.

When there was a fire alarm, I left you sleeping in the room while I escaped to safety.

  • I'm digging all these new posts, man.

And guitar! How sweet thou art! I've got to say, I'm impressed with you. Whether or not you're mistake prone, you're plowing ahead with a certain drive I see in very few people who pick up the instrument. Keep it up and you really will be good sometime down the road.

RYC: And yes, I'm aware that I've picked a tough combination double major since neither major has intersecting classes. Rough, yes. But worth it.

  • kafka might not be so great a name for your project. "kafkaesque" is one of my favorite words, but does not bode well for you....

  • man, i need to pick up a tennis racket again

  • Tennis was my first sport ever! Loved it. Was on the little pee wee tennis team. I still have my first racket, too. It's collecting dust (but it has a cover!) in the garage at the moment. And concerning the confessions of a former roommate thing, it's more frightening than funny for me. Oh, god. x_x

  • LOL......who was this?  ur freshman yr roommate?  haahhahaha, that's hilarious, though.  Poor you to have to suffer with that.

Totally love your comic for the day...so cute.
