Sister in law and Noelle
The Hope show was alot of fun that benefited a great cause. (China Care Fund) The BU VSA did a 10-12 minute set with 7 girls and 2 guys including yours truly. Came in at 3, expecting rehearsal to start at that time but it started at 5. I went out and bought some purple roses for the show while Christina went to grab her ironing board, iron, and makeup kit. Came back and met up with the girls. During the rehearsal, Vudoo Soul came in. I gave him a purple rose and a couple of winks. He accepted it pretty well. Haha. Later on I took his drummer's car for a joy ride. (His drummer is very much like Mos Def in the movie, Oceans Eleven.) Came up and pulled out a great show with relatively few hitches. Congrats to the lovely ladies for a job well done.
Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
The girls in their Ao Dai (minus Vy who happened to be enjoying the show while we awaited our part of the show)
The girls in their black and white part of the show
The girls showing off their dresses made out of tissue paper (no joke. Took them over 8 hours + to finish those things off)
Karen and Teresa blowing kisses in their Ao Dai
Teresa and I. My eyes are usually like that. I'm not actually squinting. (j/k... i hope)
Christina and Mary in their pink Ao Dai
Karen and I with the purple rose.
Christina and I
The girls again with their shocked faces.
The lovely Linda and I. (I finished winking but that didn't really work out in the picture did it?)
After the show, the crew + a few went down to Sunset Cantina for some much needed dinner at 1AM.
The Drive Home
Zon and I went home afterwards. It was 2:06 in the morning when we left Boston. The next 30 minutes were pretty crazy though. Some people have sleep walking. I have sleep driving/tralking. I would be in a haze and my mind would say anything that comes to the top of my head. I did this once with My although I don't think she noticed it. I did this again with Zon. Since I've driven the Boston to Lawrence route so often, it makes sense I'd be able to do this. I would talk to Zon about some random subject that my head comes up with and I would drive at the same time while remaining within the lanes. However, I couldn't continue it when my mind made up a nonsensical phrase that Zon challenged. I forgot since I wasn't really awake but I'm sure Zon remembers. Anyways, Zon says... wtf are you talking about to which I repeat my nonsensical phrase two more times. Then I snap awake when my mind tries to figure out the logic of what I just said. I alerted Zon to what just happened and he freaked out a bit. We went onwards and I drank up the rest of the Sobe Adrenaline which was way too sugary but not enough to keep me from doing it one more time. We talked randomly again and Zon rubs me with his phone which was part of the conversation. I snap awake and let him know again. Anyways, this time I start drifting from the lane while I drive later on when I do start to drift to sleep driving again. We make it back home safely. Let's not try that again.
The next morning, I woke up at 6:30 to work at my parent's store. I was sorely in need of sleep having gotten home at 2:45 and conking out immediately. Worked until 10:30 and went to buy balloons/flowers/card for my sister-in-law + her daughter (my niece, Noelle) They came home from the hospital at 10:45. The darling was still asleep and very adorable. She would not fuss when she's asleep even if she was poked in the cheek by me multiple times. (I know, I'm mean at heart). All the while, I missed the calls from people who I invited to go to the Dim Sum event Sunday at 11. I did pick up on Connie's call but she didn't go either. (What a coinkydink).
Next up is the Andrew Chi Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday. I'll be making mashed potatoes and bringing cornbread and ingredients for a homemade pizza. Whoever, reads this must go! (Well.. if you're in the Boston area anyways)
I ordered the first 3 seasons of Scrubs on DVD. I am very much looking forward to watching it through the Thanksgiving break.
Preparations have already begun for the Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving). We're preparing to go down to NH and making the rounds around Walmart - Best Buy - Etc. It'll be lots of fun. Andrew, Zon, Long, Kiet, and I will be there. Don't get in our way.
Very excited about my upcoming trip to New York for New Years. It will be my first time out of Massachusetts for a New Year's celebration. We'll be staying over Christina's house. We being Zon, Danielle, and I at least. I am definitely planning on watching the ball drop in New York. I haven't watched it on the television or in person before, so it'll be a very fine occasion. I also plan on watching a Broadway Show and walking around the World Trade Center. The last time I was there was the summer of 2001 before 9/11.
How were your weekends? Give me an update. I'd love to know.
Hi
friends,
I wanted to share with you that Anne
and Danh welcomed their first daughter, Noelle,
into the world on Nov. 15, 2006 at 11:20 PM. She was born at 8 lbs 9.5 oz and
20 in. with big squirrelly cheeks and a big mat of jet black hair. She and her
mom are doing well. She is drinking many bottles of milk and already leaving
giant gifts for her dad in her diapers.
